  1. I watched Wilke’s 184lbs. D.J. Brown bite two wrestlers at the Messiah Petrofes tournament. The first ref. probably didn’t see it, but he did see Brown attempt to hit his opponent. The ref. did not DQ Brown. In the very next match Brown bite the wrestler and the wrestler exclaimed, “he bit me!”. The second ref. should have seen that, but did nothing. Brown makes Wilkes look like a dirty wrestling team and he does not belong in college wrestling. The refs. at the tournament should be better trained regarding their responsibilities.

  2. Mr. Brown, understands that this was not acceptable for a Wilkes wrestler. As a freshmen wrestler, I believe he misunderstood what our philosophy at Wilkes is. Wrestle hard and have a strong desire to win, but dirty wrestling is not tolarable. He made some mistakes and applogized the second day of the tournament to the John Hopkins coaching staff. I believe you will only see hard wrestling from Mr. Brown in the future.

  3. Good Job Justin Hanson on a nice win over Burkle at the Simpson Tourney. Looks like the Rush vs. Kist match was a barn burner. Anyone have any details?

  4. I have details. Although I may be a bit biased, I hope I can give an accurate description… First period – scoreless. Both guys seemed to know, IMHO, that one slight mistake will result in the other scoring. A lot of hand fighting and a few awesome scrambles that had me holding my breath. Second period – Mark chose down and Clayton cut him. Again scoreless otherwise. Both looking for the perfect set-up but neither finding it. Third period – Clayton chooses down and escapes with a stand-up after maybe 10 or 15 seconds. Again, scoreless after that with the score ending at 1-1 after regulation. (I may have the order of the 2nd and 3rd period backwards…I honestly can’t remember!!) First 1 minute OT – more hand fighting and moving…no score. First 30 seconds, Clayton chooses down. Escapes after 15 or 20 seconds and no score after that. Second 30 seconds – Mark chooses down. Clayton throws in a leg and has an arm somehow. Some rolling around (without a change in their positions) and Clayton’s back is exposed…time runs out. An awesome match if you aren’t one of the parents!!! IMHO, there is a complete clash of styles here that will only lead to many more close matches. It will be an awesome rivalry for everyone, with the exception of us nervous parents!! 😉
