Recruiting List 2009

1
24

This post will contain lists of the recruiting classes for Division III teams. The information will be taken from the Intermat list of recruits (found here) or from emails directly from the coaching staffs of the various teams. Since there is no DIII Letter of Intent or scholarships, these commitments are generally only reported when a school has received a deposit from the athlete. Even then, the decision is not binding in any way.

  1. Ohio you obviously dont know what you are talking about being that he was an all american his junior and senior seasons.. not to mention a 3x conference placer. So if thats how colin does than things are goin the way they should

  2. Have you ever seen Lenhardt wrestle before? He never takes time outs. He may look extremely tired and want to, but thats when his opponents shoot on him, big mistake, and he goes right to his pattened belly tilt. He ain’t flashy thats for sure, but he gets the job done. I’ll take a 2x AA anyday. By the way Colins’ style of wrestling is much different than his 2 other brothers Ryan and Bryan, so that should please you or not. 12 straight years of a Lenhardt in the JWU line up. We’ll take it even with a little bottle of O2!

  3. I’m sorry. I didn’t know that the Big Ten was crappy. It only took 1st and 2nd at the NCAA’s, but you already know that.

  4. ohio is truly just a hater… whether JWU takes time outs or not.. the fact that its allowed in the sport means that if its there .. why not take it Caldwell from NC State loves timeouts and would u look at that D1 national champ.. i think someone who never uses injury time out is foolish…whether people wanna call it it east coast time out or not… if after the IT you pin the kid oh well.. he had the same amount of time to relax as you did

  5. Not a hater but if you can recall, I just made an initial comment. Everything after was perpetuated by you. As far as time outs, if you’re not ready to wrestle 10 minutes then don’t make excuses. I’m in Ohio and I follow all divisions and as far as I’ve heard and SEEN, JWU does take unnecessary time outs. Time outs are for injuries not rest!!!!

  6. Hey Buckeye boy…your a hater, pure and simple. You bashed a kid, and now your trying to turn things around. Stop the BS !

  7. You guys are all turds. Time outs are for injuries not to catch your breath. And by the way, the midwest dominates the sport every year regardless of division.

  8. thats why PA leads the states in most all americans and national champs every year in Div 1 …..every year!!!!! look at that one up.

  9. nickerson–cornell
    gomez–michigan state
    jaggers–ohio state
    cladwell–NC state
    burroghs–nebraska
    king–edinboro
    luke–michigan
    herbert–northwestern
    varner–iowa state
    ellis–missou

cornell, edinboro,NC state–the only three schools with a champion not from the midwest

  10. Gomez-from Florida(kind of)
    Burroughs-from NJ
    Herbert-from PA
    Nickerson-from NY
    King-from PA
    Caldwell from NJ

That makes 6 hailing from the east…plus Varner’s from CA so that’s not midwest. Finally this is a D.III wrestling website so I’ll give you your due with 8 Midwest raised champs:
    Oster-from IL
    Bartlett-from WI
    Batsukh-from NJ (kind of)
    Mauseth-from MN
    Wernimont-from IA
    Hanson-from IA
    Brown-from IA
    Wilcox-from NJ
    Massey-from MN
    Laurent-from WI

    D.III All Americans
    IA-14,PA-12,MN-10,IL-10,WI-8,NJ-7,
    NY-3,MI-3,VA-2,KS-2,OH-2,CT-1,IN-1,
    ME-1,AK-1,MA-1,WA-1,MD-1,ND-1

  11. Originally yes, some are from other places. But now, they wrestle for a school in the midwest. I can’t say I blame them for leaving.

  12. After wrestling what else is there in the midwest? You can have it!! You can always bring the BEST Coach in the country to the East Coast for REAL SEA FOOD and beautiful beaches. Other than wrestling what does the Midwest have? NOTHING!! You can always improve the wrestling out East, there’s no hope improving Ohio and Iowa! Nothing to do!!Depressing!! Enjoy that red lobster and Skyline chilli!

  13. Amen to that brother seafood ! East Coast is where ‘it’s at ‘. Finance, Theatre, Pro Sports and History all found on the East Coast. Ohio …fugetaboutit.

  14. Oh I’m sorry Ohio I guess you forgot about the ORIGINAL 13 colonies that fought for this country so you can play your stupid sport. America baby, this is where it all began, if you don’t like it give your freedom back and then well see how your precious wrestling fares! USA USA USA!!! Don’t try to hoot on the EAST COAST!!! REAL SEAFOOD is the man!

  15. Just for your information,Ohio, I do believe that Ohio is considered a Mid-Atlantic state and I do believe that the Ohio schools were hearing the “East Coast Time-out” chant as well.

  16. East Coast wrestling is just not on par with that which goes on in the midwest. having competed at the national level, i have beaten state champs from various east coast and new england states, despite never having placed in my own state. it’s just a different level in the midwest.. the best wrestling in the country happens in the midwest, between nebraska and ohio.
