of course he is…fixed now
what happened to hanson in the finals?
Injury default….bad shoulder. He hurt it in the semi’s
I can understand why Northern and Sander were given the wildcards. Northern split with Bartlett at the tournament each winning 2-1 and both were ranked. Sander was the number one seed in a weight class with four ranked wrestlers. Burt Sandri was pinned by Kramer. Paramaski moved up to 165 after being ranked in the top ten for every poll except the last one and his losses were to Hanson (ranked #1) and a close 5-2 decision by Burkle (ranked #3). Maybe they did not want to award Cornell two wildcards? Maybe they wanted to stack Wartburg’s chances against Augsburg or potentially DVC?
Who were wild cards?
what place would wernimont earn at D1 nationals?
Wernimont is good, but not D1 AA good. If he was in a D1 program, maybe the potential is there. Top 8 in D1 is elite wrestling status.
I think he’d compete at the D1 level. 2 years ago he had a hell of a match with sanderson out of iowa state. I think he’d could AA this year.
Let me say watching Wernimont the last 2 years if he was in a d1 atmosphere he would be aa no doubt.
I’m sorry. Say what you will but some of these clowns that are 3 or 4 back simply do not deserve a chance at nationals. I’ts ok though because these are the same wrestlers that will cause this conference to loose wildcards in the future.
The Hawkeyes would probably be more than happy to have him in the room…especially this year!
You are kidding yourself if you think Sanderson and Wernimont are even comparable, at this point in their careers.
