  1. Can someone tell me how the national brackets are determined? Are qualifier champs seeded and then the others fall into place from that? Blind draw? Just a D3 newbie trying to get up to speed. Thanks

  2. Each region puts reps on a seeding committee. Each of these reps votes for the seeds at each weight, kind of like a college football poll. Once totals are counted, then there is a conference call. If someone has a legitimate argument on how the seeds came out (like a head-to-head win over the person just above them in seeding), then they can challenge. A group of NCAA committee members then decides final seeds after hearing the evidence.

    This is of course unless you are from Augsburg. Then you get whatever you want, year after year.

  3. You can get a good projection of the seeds based on d3 and coaches poll rankings, plus any upsets that happen in Regionals.
