The last d3wrestle.com/WWSport.com Wrestler of the Week in 2008 is Kyle Vanderhyde of Olivet College. The 174 lb. senior recently won four matches to place sixth at the prestigious Midlands Championship to run his season record to 24-5. He has a single Division III loss and has also placed 3rd at the Eastern Michigan Open and 1st at the Ohio Northern Invitational. He was ranked 1st in the December 15th d3wrestle.com NCAA rankings.
Vanderhyde, a senior from Sparta, Michigan, is a two time All-American, placing 4th at 174 in 2008 and 2nd at the same weight class in 2007. He is also a two time Academic All-American with a 3.85 GPA as a math education major. He, along with fellow senior and high school teammate Jason Brew (a 2008 NCAA runner-up), have led Olivet to an 11th place finish at the 2008 NCAA Championships and a top 25 team ranking this season. Olivet returns to action next on January 1oth at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the UNI Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa.

andrew, you are ignorant…he placed 6th at the midlands…are you kidding me? and he beat quality guys and finished ahead of quality guys…and the lower ranked guy he lost to last week was the wrestler of the week last week…it makes sense to me!
