With a few weeks in the season gone, the second d3wrestle.com rankings appear below. Please note that there are several significant cases where it is not entirely clear who the top wrestler for a team is at a given weight. In these cases, we have deferred to the returning starter and also limited each weight class to one wrestler per team. Also, this is the first ranking to include true freshman, if they are deserving of a spot.

FROM WHAT I SAW OF THE FRESHMAN, ECKER FROM ITHACA @ 125 THIS PAST WEEKEND,HE SHOULD BE NAMED ON THE RANKINGS, ( ALTHOUGH I REALIZE ONLY ONE WRESTLER PER TEAM PER WEIGHT)HE WAS QUITE IMPRESSIVE FOR HIS 1ST TOURNY. IT WAS TOO BAD GREGORY GOT CAUGHT IN A HEADLOCK TO LOSE AGAINST BORST IN THE QUARTERS, OR THE FINALS MAY HAVE BEEN THE WRESTLE-OFF FOR THE STARTING SPOT FOR ITHACA.
I am confused by the “Newcomers” Title as I see a ton of guys listed who are returning wrestlers, and even a few seniors. Is this just this years version of honorable mention?
