  1. i believe 1 of ur 125lbs is 1-0 & ranked as a contender while another is 18-3 with 7 pins 4 techs & 3 majors to go along with a 2 first place finishes & a 3rd place finish respectively at the tornys & doesent get in ur top 26? wow (lol) seems a little off 2 me.

  2. Has he beaten anyone currently ranked? Has he lost to anyone not ranked? We base rankings on more than just W-L, techs, majors, pins. Strength of schedule and head to head wins are very important in our rankings.

I believe Godine from NJ is the 1-0 wrestler you are referring to…he was out for the first semester, is a defending Metro Conference Champ, and was round of 12 at Nationals last year so he gets a nod in the rankings having returned to the mats.

  3. u also have another wrestler whos 4-4 in the same weight class whos a freshmen. this isint an attack on u. just trying 2 understand ur strategy- philosphy.u answered my question. i will move on.i would prefer he b in the last ranking anyways.thats the 1 that counts. i thankyou 4 ur time as i know its not an easy job 2 do rankings. i really do appreciate ur time & ur effort.and now that i know godine pllaced top 12 i would agree 100% with ur ranking sir.

  4. corey brown lost to ryan link at 133 from upj. I believe link is ranked 2nd or 3rd in the nation in d2. He lost 7-6 I believe.

  5. Bottom line is the Metro is stacked at 125 and it really doesn’t matter about where your ranked today, it’s all about having a good weekend, just ask Godine, he proved it last year.

  6. 174.. where is Roosa? 2nd at the Parker.. and Fish beat Lowry but is ranked below him? Injuries in this weight class is going to open some doors. Meaney, Dormann, Puca, Leanhardt… tough kids hope they can get back.

  7. In all honestly Roosa has a weak case being named honerable mention. It appeared at the time that Roosa hung tough by only getting decisioned by Dormann, currently ranked 8th, in the finals of the Parker. However Doorman has since gone on to record 4 decisions in a row , making that 6 consecutive wins by decision against wrestlers of varying skill; 2 of which were against Roosa, both by the same point differential. In this fan’s eye these statistics highlight dormann’s consistency while at the same time show that Roosa didnt do anything special when wrestling Doorman for the first time back in November. But this was all before thanksgiving! Since then the former conference champ has lost again to Dormann, twice to wrestlers that are currently honerable mention, and twice to opponents that aren’t even ranked nationally.

Speaking of old news Fish beat Lowry all the way back in the beginning of November. Since then he has recorded quite a few wins but hes also lost to Puca currently hm, and a wrestler from Wisconsin-White Water who isn’t even ranked nationally. Lowry on the otherhand has made great deal of noise ever since his loss to fish at the beginning of the season having beaten a division 1 wrestler from west virginia with a .500 record, kwiat ranked 3rd, and hm hathaway just to name a few.

The bottom line is that Roosa and Fish are both great wrestlers, but the rankings are pretty accurate as is. Fish beat Lowry early in the season, but hasnt done anything all to impressive since then; he is a good hm but not a contender. Roosa is ok, but he wrestles too defensivly and his technique is limited, this was apparent with his losses to dormann both by the same score.

I like prell for a dark horse to win the conferenceat 174 and to place at nationals this year. It would be interesting to see him have a rematch with lowry. The JWU freshman only lost to him by 4 points at the beginning of the season.

  8. Newa Realist… researched a little and see Prell beat Rosa recently and may be someone to watch. Unfortunately your post implies Lenhardts injury may be serious which would be unfortunate. Exciting wrestler. The whitewater kid went to nationals last year and Puca lost to Hrunka from Edinboro 6-4 which seems respectable. Agreed though.. Lowry is good.

  9. Exactly. Fish is where he belongs. He lost to a contender and a national qualifier. That coupled with a few other wins doesn’t equate to him jumping up to a contender slot.

  10. Whoa .. did you say Lowry beat KWAIT? When did that happen? At the Budd? That would make him a top 10 in my book.

  11. Btw… watch out for RIC this weekend! No one can match them down low.. and they are getting healthy right about now

  12. How is Tom Kuehn from Augsburg rated? He’s hardly wrestled in the starting lineup all year, and he had a very close decision over Chad Henle (who for some reason is not rated).

Get this guy out of the ratings. He doesn’t belong there. He just got worked over this weekend.

Henle is a returning All American, with a proven track record. Put him back in the ratings where he belongs.

  13. Dustin Baxter just manhandled Brad Baus and Nathan Schmitz this weekend. He is head and shoulders above everyone at this weight class, with the exception of Tate. I don’t think Baxter and Tate have ever wrestled. I’m looking forward to a great finals match between Baxter and Schmitz in LaCrosse this year.
