Here are the final d3wrestle.com rankings of the regular season. The next rankings will include only wrestlers who have qualified for the NCAA Championships. This year, each weight is guaranteed to have at least 16 wrestlers in it thanks to the addition of 10 qualifiers (for a total of 170), and a system developed to allocate those 1o that will eliminate the possibility of a wrestler becoming an All-American with just one win.

  1. What happened to Gardner from Dv @ HVWT have not seen him in lineup @ gone from rankings. Will he be back for metro’s ? Also Mendoza from Wilkes missing lately, Any news?

  2. Usually really like the d3rankings, but this set confuses me somewhat. Crown from Waynesburg picks up two first-period falls and drops two spots. Also, Andrew Scavuzzo from B-W beats Luke Miller, a returning NCAA champion from ONU, albeit with Miller wrestling up to 174, and barely moves, while Miller stays put. Any thoughts?

  3. Correction to my previous statement, Crown won by tech fall against West Liberty and won by first period fall at the PAC championships in his only match.

  4. How is pain from Oswego not ranked. I think these rankings favor a certain part of the country if you know what I mean.

  6. Also Bobby wrestling up should not hurt your rankings, unless that person has dropped down, because these rankings are about the wrestlers weight class at nationals.

  7. Yea I get why wrestling up shouldn’t usually hurt someone’s rankings, but this seems like a different circumstance. Miller wrestled up 9lbs, a two time All American, defending National Champion, and loses (only scoring one point) to an HM… Either Miller should not still be at 6 or Scavuzzo should move up, the weight jump was minimal and the spread between these two rankings is uncanny. Also, Crown dominated and has a better record than those above them. Very interested to see the updated Brute-Adidas rankings when they come out.

  8. i agree with bobby, i’m not sure who does the picks. gugliotti from york at 149 beat both darling and pinned andrews, and doesnt make the list. that doesnt make sense

  9. All rankings are subjective, and thats what makes it fun. If rankings followed your theory above, how could Harrington be ranked so high? 3 losses in last 6 but, only 1 @ his weight. so should he drop below wrestlers he beat? Should Regan move ahead of wrestlers he lost to, I don’t think so & for that matter, how is Kwiat ranked #1 @ 174 Based on this years results Kwiat Lost to Jenkins HM @184, Reilly beat Jenkins 8-3.Reilly now ranked 4th @ 174 with only 1 loss in 2 years. Kwiat beat Markou, Markou Beat Scmitz it goes on & on. No Matter what it will all be settled in a few weeks. I agree with Hail, the empire conf looks tough this year as well as the Metro.Maybe they can bring a few more champs back east this year along with some more wild cards! One more thing,Hey cool guy if you have ever been to nationals, You would know why the rankings favor IIAC & Great lakes. No offense intended I’m an East guy

  10. I agree with everything you said. However you have to look at why the IIAC and great lakes get so many on the podium, they fill more spots on the brackets, its a flawed system this wild card system because its almost impossible to catch up.

  11. these rankings are absolute garbage, kids who have 10 match win streaks are getting moved down to contenders while NE wrestlers with zero quality wins move up. absolutely no credibility to these rankings

  12. I agree, terrible rankings. look at 165, how is Archambeau first contender when he lost to Conroy 13-9, and then you have Magill even lower who majored Conroy.

  13. Rankings with no bias? Come on, that is impossible for a human to do. Do I like these rankings not really, people and teams kind of get bumped around like a pinball, but if you don’t like the rankings that much, come up with your own website and your own rankings.

  14. People, rankings are to spark discussion. i think these are good. You can disagree with them. but why would you get upset about them. In wrestling if you dont agree with the rankings there is a very simple solution. Keep winnning at the end of the year.

  15. My understanding is that in the ‘contenders’ and ‘HM’ categories the order is not indicative of higher or lower rank–just that they are good enough to make that category.
