Where was Dukes at the start of the year? Was it an injury, academics, or motivation?
No one is posting? We usually get at least kids’ parents trying to voice their opinion on why _______is the best in the country without saying, “My son beat ___ who beat ___ so he only lost by 2 to _____. Shouldn’t he be ranked?”
Before Dukes is ranked, I think he should have to prove that he is worthy of being ranked. I don’t believe that prior season results should automatically make you ranked. Dukes came back in Florida, and did not do well. In fairness to the wrestlers who have earned it, I think he should have to earn it too.
Former NCAA champ and a 3rd place does warrant such a ranking. However, if he lost to a few wrestlers who are not on the list, that’s different.
