d3wrestle.com 2020-2021 Rankings #1

At long last, here are the first d3wrestle.com Rankings for the 2020-2021 season. This is a tough season to rank without large tournaments and much in the way of inter-conference competition. Some notes on the process:

  1. Wrestlers appearing in the rankings will only be ranked at a weight where they have wrestled. Adjustments will be made for guys who have not wrestled when teams start their schedules.
  2. Only wrestlers who appear as certified on Trackwrestling are ranked. Eventually, certified wrestlers will drop out if they do not compete with their teams.
  3. Since 30+ teams are not competing, the rankings have 18 wrestlers per weight class. As always, the top ten are in order, and the tiers after that are grouped but not numbered.
  4. If there are misspellings of names or mixed up schools, leave a comment so it can be fixed.

  1. Thanks for the rankings again this year! I wasn’t sure if we were going to see any with all the Covid issues. I appreciate your work and efforts.

My Two Cents: As for weight 197, I was surprised to see C. Baldridge of North Central higher then L. Hagerbaumer of Millikin Univ. after Hagerbaumer beat him in a dual meet on Jan. 24 (score 3-2). I am hopeful that after Hagerbaumer beat him again this weekend at CCIW conference tournament (score 5-2) he will be ranked higher than his opponent. Thanks.

  2. As always, thanks for the Rankings. It is a lot of work for sure and all of us appreciate it.

125 lbs- I am sure you saw Murphy (OshKosh) lost to Eau Claire this past week 8-4.
    A. Barbarise beat the kid from Eau Claire 11-7 last week so need to keep that in mind when ranking.
Murphy and Barbarise should be going at it this Friday

  3. Burford from Whitewater at 149 beat Drexler 5-4 last week then beat Wenzel last Friday by Major 9-1. He also bumped to 157 against Platteville and won 5-0. Looks good at 4-0
