  1. An analysis of the results shows the following as competition between the regions:
    1) Mid-West 269.5 points, 3 champions, 20 All-Americans;
    2) Central 179.5 points, 1 champion, 14 All-Americans;
    3) Northeast, 165 points, 2 champions, 12 All-Americans;
    4) East, 143.0 points, no champions, 14 All Americans;
    5) Mid-East 119.0 points, 1 champion, 11 All-Americans;
    6) West 102.0 points, 3 champions, 9 All-Americans

    Obviously some teams from the Mid-West need to be reallocated to the West.

  2. Congratulations to Spingfield’s first D3 National Champ Devin Biscaha!
    I know I am biased but how did he not get OW??
    I looked at the bracket this kid beat an all american in ever single round of the tournament that inclused the out bracket!

  3. At the Northeast Regional, Devin Biscaha defeated 2012 All American Derek Brenon of Ithaca to qualify for Nationals, meaning he defeated 6 straight all-americans in his route to winning the title.

  4. I believe Bischa only defeated 2 All Americans Brennon and Burdge. Weltner did not All American last year. Bischa beat 7, 3, 2 and 4 and Sanders beat 3, 2 and 1 so I think it was a close vote and they both deserved it

  5. Thank you, Cal Hawk, for that analysis. It has been apparent (to many people) from the time they announced the new regions that they were unbalanced, but it is good to see the stats that back up that assertion. Now, when will the coaches insist that the regions be more fairly allocated?
